Airport Wireless connection slowly degrades and disconnects
Some customers have experienced a problem with their Airport Wireless connection. Specifically the connection may start with 3 or 4 bars of connection strength, then degrade until the connection becomes slow and finally disconnects. Often times, the connection will resume minutes later and begin it's slow decline again.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a good solution for this right now. Testing at Orchard Remote has revealed that this problem only seems to occur when the distance between the computer and the wireless base station increases to more than about 50 feet. Moving closer to the wireless base station can eliminate the problem entirely, but this is not always an option.
The OS X Leopard 10.5.2 update has been tested, and appears to resolve the issue for some, and introduce the issue for others that had no problems in 10.5.1. You've been warned.
Click the "Apple Menu" and choose "Software Update...". Install the 10.5.2 update. After restarting your computer, run the software update again and install any remaining updates.
